At First Legal we have
substantial experience in advising and appearing in court
in relation to breach of employment contracts including redundancy,
unfair dismissal and actions for damages. With the commencement
of the Workplace Relations Amendment (Work Choices) Act 2005,
employers and employees alike need to be familiar with how
their rights and obligations are affected by this law.
The New South Wales Occupational Health & Safety
Act 2000 requires that employers ensure workplace equipment
is safe, properly maintained and used without risk to employee’s
health. In order to ensure that a business or an organisation
complies with its obligations under the law to ensure the
health, safety and welfare of its employees there is a
need to understand and be able to apply a number of acts
and the relevant regulations, such as the Occupational
Health & Safety Act 2000, Dangerous Goods Act 1975,
Rural Workers Accommodation Act 1969, Workplace Injury
Management & Workers Compensation Act 1998 and the
Workers Compensation Act 1987. |
